Dress Code
Students must abide by the dress code established by Columbus City Schools. Additional Requirements Specific to Yorktown:

Solid Red, Blue, White, Black or Orange undershirts/t-shirts are NOT PERMITTED. Layering of these colors is also not permitted. Shirts 3” or more below the waist must remain tucked in.

For shorts, dresses, or skirts, Yorktown staff shall define mid-thigh as being no higher than 3” above the knee. All pants/shorts/skirts are to be worn at the natural waistline. Sagging will not be permitted. NO GYM SHORTS.

A neat, school-appropriate appearance is expected at all times. Any form of dress, article of clothing, jewelry, or accessory that takes away from or may cause a distraction to the educational environment at Yorktown may be restricted.

School administration reserves the right to revise and further restrict articles of clothing, as necessary.

Absolutely Not Permitted

Solid Black Hoodies, Red Belts, Blue Belts, Shorts Higher Than 3" Above the Knee, House Shoes/Slippers, Elastic Gym/Athletic Shorts, Blankets, Hats, Bandanas, Head Scarves, Shoes With Heels Higher Than 1" (no stilettos), Pajama Pants, Tank Tops, (Boys No Sleeveless Shirts), Spaghetti Strap Shirts, Low Cut Shirts That Expose Any Cleavage or That Hang Off of the Shoulder, Tunics/Shirts Worn With Leggings Must Not Be Shorter Than 3" Above the Knee, Sagging, Any Clothing That is Inappropriately Revealing or See-Through, Sunglasses, Pants/Shorts/Sweatpants With Writing Across the Seat, No Rips, Tears or Cuts in ANY clothing including Pants, Shirts, Jackets, or Shorts.

JUST BECAUSE IT IS IN STYLE, DOES NOT MEAN IT IS OKAY TO WEAR TO SCHOOL
